KoRT - CORN ODP
Preamble
Both Confederation Of Righteous Nations and Knights of the Round Table, in recognition of our friendship, common values and interests and in pursuit of our collective security, strength, and prosperity, enter into this agreement in furtherance of those goals. Furthermore, the signatories commit themselves to upholding the obligations they freely undertake by signing this treaty.
Sovereignty
By ratifying this treaty, the signatories affirm the mutual sovereignty and independence of each other and agree that no signatory shall interfere with the sovereignty or independence of the other signatory.
Peace and Non-Aggression
By ratifying this treaty, the signatories agree to remain in a state of peace with one another. Furthermore, the signatories and their respective members choose to not engage in hostile actions against each other, including: Declare war on any member nation of the other alliance, provide aid (military, economic or intelligence) to any enemies of the other signatory, or commit acts of espionage against the other. Signatories and their respective members also agree to remain civil to each other at all times, both in public and in private.
In the interests of maintaining the peace, should a member of either signatory alliance violate this clause, the signatory alliances agree to follow only diplomatic routes in resolving the violation.
Intelligence
By ratifying this treaty, the signatories agree that if they acquire information that stipulates a form of danger to another signatory, they shall share such information, with due haste, with the government of the signatory, in a private and discrete manner. The only exception to this is if the disclosure of said information would violate a surrender agreement.
Signatories also agree to keep the other signatories informed (preferably in the afore-mentioned private and discrete manner) of any current and potentially upcoming wars against either single nations or alliances. Furthermore, signatories agree to keep such information private and lessen the chance that potential enemies may be forewarned.
Aid
Should the need arise, a signatory may request financial or political assistance of the other signatory. By ratifying this treaty, the signatories agree that they are expected, but not obligated to fulfill such a request, providing a good reason for the request is given.
A signatory also may not request financial aid if they are in an aggressive war or if the signatory of which the aid is requested is in a war themselves.
Optional Defense
By ratifying this treaty, the signatories agree that, should the need arise, a signatory may request the military assistance of the other signatories. However The signatory alliance is not obligated fulfill the request.
This article does not apply in the situation where it would violate a higher treaty or a surrender agreement, or if the attacked signatory is in an aggressive war against another alliance.
Cancellation
If a signatory feels that it is in their alliance best interest to withdraw from this treaty they must first inform the government of the other signatories in a private and discrete manner. After all signatories have been informed, there will be a 48 hour cooling-off period, whereby the articles of this treaty will still apply to the withdrawing signatory.
